[Not] Labor[ing] Day

Still plugging away.
This stranding is still addicting. I constantly want to work on it. Though when I pick it up, I stop every now and then to admire the floats.
I’m not sure if anyone is particularly interested, but I did take a couple pictures of how I do two-handed stranded knitting. See after the cut.

This is how I normally knit–continental–with the yarn going around the back of my middle finger, and held in between my index and middle finger. The dominant color goes in this hand.

I taught myself English style so I could work two colors. The yarn is simply held between my middle and index finger. I put the background color in this hand. It was awkward at first, but I’ve gotten used to it.
I never let go of the yarn or the needles when executing a stitch.
These pictures also show off the fact that I’m knitting the stocking inside out to control the tension of the floats. Pretty cool, eh?

Those floats rock. I’d be stopping to admire them all the time too.:)

Wow! Those floats are gorgeous. I can’t believe you are knitting that sock inside out. Crazy lady! lol Though, it’s actually a fantastic idea, I’m a bit jealous I never thought of it.

Very, very nice work. I’ve only done stranded knitting on Christmas stockings where the floats don’t matter and it doesn’t have to fit anyone. This is a gorgeous sock!
