Frogger

Look at her, lying there so pretty and so innocent.

Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful.

This is Thermal. She is made of Habu Silk Wool, which is one of the most luxurious yarns I’ve ever had the pleasure to touch.

Unfortunately, she’s too big.

I know it’s not exactly clear, but look at my stomach. The sweater is flopping forward with a ridiculous amount of ease. You know those diet pill commercials, in which a newly thin person wearing his/her old pants pulls out the waistband to show how much weight s/he has lost? Yeah, it’s like that. I would’ve taken the picture to show you, and I did–but it came out blurry. Since I’m in a bad mood about having to rip poor little Thermal out, I didn’t take another.

Thus, is the life of a knitter. As one of my yarn store managers says, “You gotta know when it’s time to rip back.”

P.S. I’m going to be rebuilding my old entries from scratch and backdating them. If you subscribe to the feed and you see it going crazy, just ignore it.

You make me fear for my own thermal! That ribbing isn’t as stretchy as it could be considering the stretch of the waffle stitch. However prerip it was looking very pretty!

Oh no! But I agree: Better to rip and reknit something that you KNOW you’re going to wear and/or be happy with, instead of trudging on through in the hopes that in the end it will fit. (I’m a ripping queen, so I sympathize.)
